How was your day? How do you feel? Are these questions you can easily answer with a “I feel…” sentence?
I was so disconnected to my true inner feelings that I had literally to look up, which are our basic human feelings. Sadness, Anger, Shame, Digust, Happy, Surprise, Fear, Contempt.
Once I could name them, I was able to track them in my body and I’ve started to feel them-in a grounded way. Without getting flooded by them.
Setting Boundaries
Stop! No! Autsch! I don’t like that! That doesn’t feel good!
You’ve probably heard that words in your head a million times. What comes out of your mouth might be more like a: “Ok” ,“No worries” , “Yes” or maybe nothing.
Setting boundaries in a way that’s respectful and yet a clear “no”, is something I’ve had to learn to. I used to set them too late and then they came out very strongly. But there is alternative route we can take.
